Public Workshop: Trauma Then, Trauma Now

An extension of Trauma Then, Trauma Now, part of ‘Liverpool Arab Arts Festival’ (Liverpool, United Kingdom)

This exhibition will involved an initial screening of the original work followed by an afternoon workshop where I present the original work, talk through the background and development of it while showing evidence followed by a performance workshop.

The aim of the workshop is for the audiences to participate in the development of the performance while collaboratively dissecting the context and drawing parallels to, perhaps, their identities or backgrounds. Such collaborative developments are sought to extending the 'making' of art onto the wider audience and challenging the artist’s positionality by inviting audiences to become 'the artist'.

The workshop involved a session unpacking the ‘subconscious’ in participants through written, visual and audio exercises.
