I am an Algerian-born, Kuwait-raised, and UK-based visual artist and creative producer. My practice interrogates societal constructs within postcolonial contexts, focusing on how identities and behaviours are performed, adapted, and negotiated. Informed by psychoanalytic and performance-based frameworks, I approach human behaviour as a form of ‘performance’ that reveals wider cultural and political dynamics. My work unfolds across staged and interactive performance, installation, photography, and moving image, creating spaces that probe and reframe collective understandings of identity and belonging.

I have a record of exhibiting across the UK and Europe while engaging various communities. Among others, I have showcased work and artistically collaborated with SomoS Berlin, Manchester International Festival, Live Art Development Agency (London), V&A Museum (London), HOME Manchester, P21 Gallery (London) Liverpool Arab Arts Festival (Liverpool), The Arab British Centre (Manchester).

In parallel to my artistic practice, I am undertaking a fully funded AHRC Northern Bridge PhD at Newcastle University, which rethinks Algerian masculinity through the lens of café culture as a site of postcolonial memory, gendered performance, and embodied spatial practice. Alongside this research, I have built a strong track record as a creative producer, leading and delivering diverse projects within the UK and European cultural sector including, formerly, The Place Theatre (London), the Cultural Programming strand of the National Trust (London), Crafts Council (London), Kazam! Agency (Paris/London), and currently, Federation of Scottish Theatre.
